Introduction
The National Education Repository and Digital Bank, known as the NERD Project, represents a historic digitalization initiative in Nigeria and Africa. This groundbreaking endeavor gained endorsements from the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2014, the Nigerian Research and Education Network (NGReN) in 2014, and the Federal Ministry of Education in 2015. Despite its significance, the project faced critical challenges in the absence of an institutional digital repository, non-discoverability of researchers and their work, and difficulties in accessing and locating digital content.
